The Art of Nerd

Tonight we had an ASEDA going away party / dance for Adam Haer, a swing dancer moving to California for seminary. We hosted it here at Emory in Fellowship Hall. I don't know why it is always as hot as it is in Glenn, but it's alwayss a sauna in there.
 
Overall, it was a good dance. Moose DJ'd, and he always plays the older fun songs. Somewhere along the way he's picked up speaking announcing / talking during his sets.
 

I want to test using an image.

Thank you all of my friends who have offered to let me stash some of my stuff with you!
I found out where I'm living for the next month. It's only a few blocks away from where I live now, and I've heard that it's large enough to hold all of my stuff.
Awesome.

So, in trying to decide between WordPress and Drupal, I've realized the main difference between the two. While Drupal has all the features to be a blog, it really shines as a community portal. I'm not sure that I could take full advantage of those features as I don't plan on having that much community interaction. I really like a bunch of the features like calendar, photo albums, and the large library of available modules, however most of those features have become redundant.

Calendars have been replaced with Google Calendars.
Photo Albums have been replaced by Flikr (Also Google, hmm).

Maybe I should just switch to wordpress? I'm not sure I need all of these bells and whistles.

Excellent! The FCK Editor - allowing me a WYSIWYG editor for all of my postings. Let's check the image thing. Unfortunately, it doesn't support uploading images. That'll come next.
I promise real content once I have this set up the way I'd like.

Differ from regular stories.

First - no FCKeditor.

Second - it allows people to keep track of posts by username vs. all on the stage. That will be useful when -or- if I have other users on the site.

Anyway, Laundry Calls. Followed by packing.

This is still just a work in progress - there is a lot of things I want to do with the formatting and the design.
1) That logo needs to go on the right. I don't know how I'm going to do it, but with enough editing of page.tpl.php I'm going to get it.
2) I want a full compliment of pages on the right, each with meaningful information.
3) I'm going to get the fun modules. I'm not sure which ones they are yet, but I want them.
